The EU funded FP 7 research project Res-AGorA develops a normative and comprehensive governance framework for Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). To this end it also monitors RRI in selected European countries. For this purpose the Res-AGorA consortium calls for applications for the position as national correspondent in each of the following 8 countries: the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Lithuania, Poland, and Spain.
Applicants should be social scientists with an excellent knowledge of “Science and Society” issues in their resident country. Previous experiences with large-scale interna-tional research projects and research in the area RRI and “Science in Society” are preferred.
Based on a common template and guidelines provided by the consortium, applicants will collect information about RRI in their resident country and present it in three consecutive reports, scheduled to be delivered in March 2014, January 2015, and November 2015. Given that it is unlikely that the RRI landscape within a country will change radically over the duration of the project, the three reports will have a different structure, addressing particular topics which will arise from the overall Res-AGorA project. Reporting will be online based and consist of 20 to 30 pages of text as well as a number of qualitative and quantitative indicators describing RRI activities in the respective country. The reports will be quality checked and commented on by senior researchers from within the consortium. The country correspondents will need to revise reports accordingly before they will be accepted. In addition, correspondents will provide documents about RRI in their respective country for a project repository. Correspondents have to participate in a training workshop in late autumn 2013 and a final workshop planned for autumn 2015. In total the Res-AGorA project is expected to run from February 2013 to January 2016.
A lump sum payment of € 16.000 covers all costs (incl. operating expenses related to research, and travel and accommodation costs related to workshops). 20% of the fee will be paid when the contract is signed (expt. September 2013), 20% following acceptance of the 1st report, 30% following acceptance of the 2nd report, and 30% following acceptance of the 3rd report. Signing individual contracts with the national correspondents is preferred.
Applications should consist of a brief outline of research interests and experience with-in the fields of “Science in Society” and “RRI”, a CV, and a list of publications.
Deadline for application: 15. August 2013
